On my walk to work this week I've seen this same item that the trash guys declined to pick up:
And on the backside, we achieve brand identification:
Yes, my people, that's a treadmill for dogs. A treadmill for dogs. A treadmill for dogs. A treadmill for dogs?
Or more accurately, a treadmill for the dogs of people who are too lazy to take their dogs out for a real walk.
Revolutionary? Sure, if your idea of a revolution is having your dog chew your favorite slippers, crap on your rug, and maul you while you're sleeping. Gee...I wonder why the Jog A Dog is sitting out at the curb.
Thank you to Spucko for giving voice to the existential crisis this device would surely produce in a dog accustomed to being walked in the park: "How am I supposed to take a crap on this thing?"
No wonder so many people want to own trucks...it's the lure of easy junk. You can be driving down any street and see it: treasure. It's sitting on someone's curb. They don't want it anymore. It's trash to them, but for you, it's just what you were looking for today. I used to always take a camera with me, to capture the strange things I saw in people's trucks. Today, I wished I still did. I saw a truck with what had to be 30 or 40 old ironing boards in the bed. That was all--just a mound of old ironing boards. Imagine...what could you do with that many ironing boards? Besides recycle them. I realize some people own trucks for practical reasons. In particular, people who own really large trucks--and I'm not talking about those huge, ridiculous Cadillac trucks--those industrial trucks, must have practical pursuits. For the most part, driving around Tampa, the practical pursuit looks like junk hauling. I submit this for your inspection:
I snapped this one on 40th St., south of Hillsborough back in 2003. Yes, that's a flattened car being hauled in the back of a truck along with a washer, a bike, and some other miscellaneous junk. A car.
Or how about this one? Looks the guy has loaded up the aftermath of a tornado on his trailer. I think that's a car.
I am personally fascinated by this. If you're not, well, what can I say? Check back tomorrow, and maybe I'll write about something that fascinates you.
