In honor of Canada Day, show us your favourite Canadian.

Wow, where to start? There are so many great Canadians. I guess I'll start with the obvious, my peeps who are Canadian:

Bobavey
Arbed
Brown Amazon
Toe-Knee
Morgat

Did I miss anyone in my hood who's Canadian?

And then there are the Canadians I don't know, but admire:

Sue Johansen-great sex educator
Elizabeth Bagshaw--all about the birth control
Alexander Graham Bell--duh!

Wolverine--snerk!
James Naismith--after whom a street in Lawrence is named. We love our basketball.
Tecumseh
Atom Egoyan, Deepa Mehta & Paul Haggis--so many great Canadian film directors)

Great list! Although technically, Bell was Scots. But he did most of his work here.
James Naismith actually "invented" basketball about 45 minutes SW of here, in a little town called Almonte (pronounced "all-munt", not like a Spanish or Italian word). They have a cool little museum in the town hall.

That's how crazy Jayhawks are for basketball--a group of them are making a "pilgrimage" to Almonte this summer to celebrate winning the NCAA Championships this year.

That dude from LOST scared the pee out of me. Guys like that eat guys like me for breakfast. But then, I'm not Canadian. :-P

Nice to see Mal from Firefly. Did you ever see the episode of Buffy where Nathan Fillion plays an evil priest? Drastically different guy there.

Oh, Kirk, I am trying soooo hard not to make inappropriate sexual innuendos on the topic of being eaten for breakfast. Oops, didn't try hard enough. (And yes, loved Nathan as the evil priest.)

Actually he invented the game in Springfield, Mass, then moved it to Lawrence when he started teaching PE at KU where it became a more official game. He is, to this day, the only KU coach with a losing record which i think is pretty funny.

Well, I have no doubt that you would enjoy being eaten for breakfast by Durand more than I would.

I'm honored to make your list. And sorry I can't think of anything cooler to add to that. I'm going to put on a pot of coffee and then maybe see if I can use one of the IV's from my jump kit without bleeding to death... wish me luck.
