Second Birthday
Everybody loves Second Breakfast, but today I'm getting Second Birthday. One: my sister forgot it was my birthday yesterday, so she called this morning. Two: I have leftovers from my birthday dinner last night. So, I'll eat them at lunch and get to experience Birthday Goodness all over again.
I have to say this, though: what is the world coming to? On my birthday, I usually wear a tiara to signal to people that they need to treat me like a princess. (Same reason I wear a tiara on the days when I'm in a particularly foul mood.) Yesterday, at least a hundred people saw me wearing my tiara all over campus. No one asked me why. No one, in fact, looked at me any more strangely than they normally do. Come on! A tiara doesn't even bear mentioning? *sigh*
Oh, well, aside from my birthday leftovers, today's just another day. More paperwork, more slacking, more last-minute panicking from my boss. I'll see you around.

Happy 2nd Birthday!
Hey, year before last, everyone ignored my birthday (again). Even my sister, whose birthday five months before, I arranged a party for and got her a fab present. Friends here in the states never do a thing for my birthday. Nothing makes you feel like an old vow like that. But... this past year, I got to work and they took me out to lunch and I got cards...and when I got home, I got a lovely cake and present from a new friend. Even the guys at the corner shop gave me a gift and some awesome Indian sweet rice thing. You need to move to the UK. Everyone loves to remember your birthday. Lovely people!
Your sister forgot?! I hope you're not going to let her get away with that...
Maybe you need something more noticeable than a tiara? Maybe an oversized comedy party hat?
I'm flabbergasted that the tiara didn't cause more of the stir btw.

Wouldn't the world be an awesome place if everyone treated everyone like they were wearing a tiara, every day?
Sorry I missed the first one.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
Hmmm... Tiara... Redzilla, Queen for a Day... LOL
Happy bday, belated.
Belated birthday wishes.
I like the tiara idea. Maybe I should start wearing one when I am pre-menstrual. That is when my (all male) co-workers usually cop it from me. :)
Nobody really does Halloween in Australia, so when I wore a tutu to work on the 31st October, it raised a few eyebrows. I wore it over my usual work gear (polite top, grey pencil skirt, businessy flats) so most people got the reference. My line manager, however, said to me "that's a nice dress"... cos, you know, a 7 layer, multicolour tutu is the sort of thing one normally wears around the workplace.
I love you so much because you wear a tiara on your birthday.
