Redzip Van Winkle
I finally crawled into work today--gotta do payroll or people get mad. I feel like I've lost a lot more than the last six days, but I can't quite pin down why. The cats just seemed confused when I got up and put on clothes and shoes. How quickly they forget that I don't usually spend 20 hours a day in bed with them. I think.
The bonus is that with a really good fever and plenty of cold medicine, the writers strike really doesn't matter. The last few days I've had much better TV going on in my head than I've seen on TV in years. For example--the new Wednesday show is something I've titled Call Me After the Apocalypse. It's about these people who don't realize there's been an apocalyptic event until they start running out of food, and when they go into town for groceries they find out that the world as they knew it ended a few weeks ago. The weird thing is that the government has activated these mutant Plant-People who are supposed to be caretakers of the country until it's safe for people to live on the surface of the planet again. Why don't the ill-informed humans seem to be suffering from what caused the other humans to live underground? I dunno, but I think the Plant-People have other intentions than "caretaking," and who can blame them? During the pilot episode I was kind of rooting for them.
Yup, I'm feeling a little better.
Be sure to drop by tomorrow, when my friend Dana Fredsti is going to be guest-blogging about her recently published novel The Peruvian Pigeon. Although she may not be able answer questions in real-time, she's promised to answer any questions after the fact.

In this show....were there any talking Legos?
welcome back. You missed us.
Your story idea is great.
Glad to hear you are on the mend. There is nothing like a "lung thing" to wipe you out.
COMPLETELY.
Take your time and get well....it's not something to rush, and it's normal to feel really crappy for awhile!
Seriously, take it easy this weekend and make sure the bug doesn't come back. And please tell me where I can tune into this Call Me After the Apocalypse.
