I'm bringing sexy back ... for a refund

I am in awe of your adventure, fortitude and preparedness. I can see why you're looking forward to the next phase of the project -- how many of us could even contemplate the sistering in of ceiling joists?

Godspeed, Redz, and don't forget the snacks this time.

You are a home reno goddess. I barely know what a joist is, let a lone how one goes about sistering them.
I worship your shadow. (not in a bad, Lexx type way either!)

Oof. You are a rock star, Redz.
Awesome. Attic spelunking. I've never even heard the phrase "sistering in" before.
Wow. That is seriously impressive.

you need to bring snack, though. Snacks are always a must :)

Wow. I've never been up in my attic. It's actually more of a crawl space, I guess. I've sent people up there, but I've stayed safely below. I need to have all that electrical stuff put in if I were to have ceiling fans anywhere, which is why I don't have any ceiling fans.
Ceiling fans are totally worth it. My attic is really big, but not big enough that I could have living space up there. :o(

Oh and my work study student, when I told her why I was limping (stupid sciatica aggravated by attic spelunking), responded: "Wow, you are made out of pure crazy, aren't you?" Fucking whippersnapper.
I really should have a ceiling fan in my bedroom. I use a floor fan during the summer just to get additional breeze from the A/C. It's on that list, along with new windows, security door, new sliding glass patio doors, etc.

wow! i have to admire you - you do all the cool home improvement stuff that I always wanted to do, but never did. and you can tell you're enjoying all of it.

36 in. joists? That's just crazy. Was that common back in olden times?

Our attic isn't big enough to do any real work in. Hubby hauled a TV antenna up there to lie down flat, but it's only big enough to be on hands and knees at the highest point. Nobody can stand up in it except Tortie, who got up there once and came out covered in that moon dust insulation all over her floof.
I've never seen 36 in oc joists, but this house is pretty much completely homemade, so...it's hardly an example of "typical" home building.

You will forever be my hero!

I can see it on the tombstone now... Here lies Pure Crazy... LOL

Even Bob Villa and Norm would've tucked tail and ran from that project.

I think you are awesome, not sick!

Three cheers for Redz!! YOU ROCK!!!
