Got ducklings?
I'm sure you all remember last year's post on Duck Day at Anderson Elementary. Each year, a mallard duck flies into the school's courtyard and lays her eggs. It's a pretty posh set up with a swimming pool, a safe nest, and free food, as long as you can stand all the paparazzi. When school ends in May, the kids escort the ducks across the street to the river.
This year, your intrepid reporter decided to go see the ducklings for herself. My sister is the librarian at Anderson Elementary, and so spends many happy hours with her face pressed against the courtyard windows watching the ducklings. This Saturday, we decided to have breakfast with them. We stopped by LaMar's Donuts (best donuts evar!) and then went on to the school, where I not only got some pics of this year's ducklings, but got some excellent video of duckies swimmingk and eatingk. (Ignore the audio. There are some adorable little quackings, but it's mostly the sound of my goofy family doing homemade nature narration.)
