If you believe the man ever existed and was not merely the product of 19th century urban legend.
Well, let's check this out via wikipedia, shall we? here you go...
No, no, nonsense. It matters nothing at all if Sweeney Todd was real. All it matters is if Haining told a good story, and he did. Whether the book was fiction or non-fiction matters not a bit--that's just a filing problem.
Having a hard time detecting joking but I'm going with that because I can't handle the vertigo associated with my world tilting sideways.
What is a "hard" hanging? Is there such a thing as a "soft" or "easy" hanging?
My understanding is that the term "hard" hanging refers to one done without humane considerations. In a humane hanging, the hangee is dropped from a scientifically calculated height. Death is nearly instantaneous and caused by the sudden severing of the spinal column. In a "hard" hanging, the hangee isn't dropped, but is hoisted. So death is caused by strangulation and takes 5-6 very unpleasant minutes.
Usually followed by lots of twitching and grunts and nastiness......

So... some very polite lawyers for the Japanese toy company Toho tell me I can't use the Godzilla graphic anymore. Or any dinosaur or lizard graphic. I've been a bad girl.
