Color ignorant not the same thing as color blind
I have just spent the last hour doctoring a photo for a newsletter, because somebody didn't have the sense to pay attention to the backdrop of the photo. It's of a GTA who won a prestigious award and she looks quite happy in the photo, which is why it sucks that the photo itself was unusable in its original form.
The problem is that the GTA has very dark skin and black hair. She was photographed standing in front of a wall paneled in dark walnut. I have no idea if the hair-do I have given her in Photoshop bears any resemblance to what her hair looked like the day of the ceremony, because it faded completely into the panelling. And I'm not a hairdresser.
Dear photographer: you wouldn't photograph somebody with blue skin against a blue wall, why would you photograph someone with dark brown skin against a dark brown wall?
